Asbestos Media Coverage

You may be aware of reports in some media outlets today regarding our school being listed on the Government asbestos register.  The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority, which is why asbestos management is treated seriously.

There are strict processes in place for the management and safe removal of asbestos. Any asbestos present is clearly marked with signage, maintained on an asbestos register kept onsite, audited on an annual basis by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure Asbestos Services Unit and our Asbestos Management Plan ensures that asbestos is removed as soon as practicable.

Please be assured there is no high risk asbestos at our school.  Where the condition of existing asbestos changes, there are stringent safety conditions and processes for the asbestos to be removed immediately to ensure the health and safety of children and young people.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kate Burdett, Business Manager, or myself on (08) 8551 1900.

Thanks for your continuing support of our school.

Amanda O’Shea
Principal

install learnlink office 365

LearnLink Office 365 is a customised package of Microsoft Office 365, tailored for the South Australian public education system, and is offered at no additional charge to families whilst their student remains enrolled at Victor Harbor High School.

Microsoft Office 365 is now available for students and staff to install on their devices. Students need to return their signed Office 365 / Digital Citizenship Agreement (usually processed on Fridays) in order to be given access. For a copy of the agreement, click here.

You will need to use your Learnlink email account to log in to office.com and again to activate the software after you have installed it, which at this stage is best to do using either an internet hotspot or home internet access. Even if you are already using Office 365 with a family account, you will need to switch to using your Learnlink account to be able to use Office 365 collaboratively with staff and students at school.

PURCHASE PORTAL - BYOD DEVICE

Victor Harbor High School in conjunction with ASI has opened a new computer purchasing portal. Listed on the site are computers that will run well on the BYOD network at the school.

STEP TO TAKE:

  1. Login to your account on VHHS DayMap, go to the Bulletins and find ‘BYOD Purchasing Portal’ for the Registration Key Code. (Students can also find the information on the school’s intranet page)
  2. Follow this link to the purchasing portal, https://victorharbor.asi.com.au
  3. Select ‘Register’ (bottom right). Then create an account
  4. Now you are under way

Just an additional note: It’s always a good thing to get anti-virus, anti-malware, as well as accidental loss or damage and theft cover when purchasing a computer to be used by your child at school.

Install the VHHS app

We have recently introduced an app for parents, students and the general community to stay up-to-date about what is happening at Victor Harbor High School. So stay tuned and download the app! It works on Apple, Android, Windows and other devices.
