 Key Contact for Communication:

Each student is assigned a House Teacher – as listed on their student timetable (available via Daymap). Families are welcome to contact this teacher for assistance with any inquiries or to seek further support or information.  Medical and/or Custody Information:

Your child’s wellbeing is of vital importance. Please provide our school with the latest information regarding any medical conditions or custody orders they may have by contacting Student Services between 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday or email dl.0799.studentservices@schools.sa.edu.au

Having the most up-to-date contact information such as residential address, mailing address, phone numbers and email address is very important for the school to keep in contact and for parents to access DayMap, our Learner Management System where parents can keep up-to-date with their child’s progress and attendance records. Department for Education Buses:

For all students who require bus transport to and from school, forms and the bus timetables are available on our website under About Us/School Buses and from Student Services. If you need more information, please contact Student Services.

 School Times:

Students are expected to be at school by 8:45am in preparation for Lesson One which starts promptly at 8:50am. Recess is held at 10:30am to 10:50am and the lunch break is from 12:50pm until 1:30pm. School dismisses each day at 3:15pm. More info on website under About Us/Lesson Times

Student ID Cards:

These are produced by the school’s photography provider and the date for school photographs is Monday 20 February 2023. The initial ID card will be paid for by the school, any replacements will need to be paid for at the Finance Office and ordered from Student Services.

 Text and Library Books:

Please make sure that you return any outstanding text or library books when your student/s leaves our school.

 Stationery Lists:

All year level Stationery lists are available on the school website under Publications and Policies

 Canteen:

We have our own school managed canteen facility onsite at Victor Harbor High School with a wide selection of items available from 8:00am each day.

 Breakfast items include egg and bacon muffins and ham and cheese croissants. Recess and lunch options include sandwiches, wraps, rolls, sushi, cold rolls, salads and a variety of hot foods and sweet selections. There are a wide variety of drinks available including milk, juices, soft drink and water. The canteen menu is available via the school’s website under About Us/Canteen. Lunch orders are recommended to ensure supply and reduce waiting times.

 Volunteers:

Support received from parent volunteers can be invaluable and we welcome your interest. A couple of examples where volunteers are invaluable are Governing Council members and homestay hosts for International Students. There are mandated security checks to complete before any volunteering activities commence. If you have skills or talents that would be beneficial to our students and staff and you are interested in volunteering in our school, please contact the Business Manager. Application forms for those interested can be accessed via the school website under Publications and Policies.

 Uniform:

Uniform items are available from Totally Workwear located at 1A Lincoln Park Drive, Victor Harbor SA 5211. You can visit the store between 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday or Saturdays between 9:00am and 12:00pm. There is the option to purchase online too.  Fees and Finance Information:

You will receive an invoice for school fees mid to late January 2023. If your student is now not planning to attend Victor Harbor High School in 2023, please contact the school Finance Office.

2023 Materials and Services polling has been successful, therefore the below charges will be legally recoverable.

·         $665.00 for Year 7, 8 & 9 students

·         $706.00 for Year 10, 11 & 12 students plus subject levies

·         $355.00 Wellbeing and Transition Hub

Students who have selected courses with additional levies will see these reflected on their invoices. Semester 2 subject levies will be invoiced at the start of Term 3, 2023.

Vocational Education (VET) Courses attract additional charges that are outside of the M&S charge. Students participating in VET courses are expected to have completed a commitment to pay before they are enrolled into VET courses.

School Administration will be open from the week beginning 23 January between 9:00am and 2:00pm for assistance with your school fees or school card documentation. You are welcome to make payments using any of the options outlined below:

 APPLYING FOR A SCHOOL CARD

 All types of School Card applications will be available online from 16 January 2023

You can access the online forms from any device that gets internet, including mobile devices, such as tablets and smart phones, as well as laptops and computers.

Applying online is easy! Simply follow the steps below.

 STEP 1 From mid-January visit www.sa.gov.au/education/schoolcard

STEP 2 Select the type of School Card you would like to apply for (for example ‘Type A’) and follow the prompts.

STEP 3 Complete all mandatory fields. Please note: you cannot proceed to the next page unless all mandatory fields are complete.

STEP 4 Once you have completed a page click on the ‘NEXT’ button.

STEP 5 Once you have filled out all pages click the ‘SUBMIT’ button. Please note: if you exit the form without clicking ‘SUBMIT’ your details will be lost.

You can save the form, and return to complete it at another time, by clicking on the ‘SAVE’ button.
